Product Training for the Technical Expert is an attempt to fill a very large gap in the engineering product training field. While there are many books on talent development, leadership training, and developing internal training programs, there are very few that teach subject matter experts (SME s) how to train others to get the most out of their products. This handbook will provide a SME with a thorough reference on how to begin the process of becoming an effective instructor. When technology is rapidly turned into a product accessible to the public, subject matter experts are then asked to become the instructors. They are rarely trained in adult education and don t understand why transferring their knowledge to others is difficult. In the many technical companies the author has worked with (Honeywell, Delphax, Rimage, Telex, Bosch, TE Connectivity & CommScope), the problem has been identical. It starts with a need to teach others about the product, so someone assigns or hires someone already very knowledgeable about the product to just do it. The book will help the SME actually do it, and do it effectively.
