Value in a Changing Built Environment explores the foundation on which the valuation exercise and the valuation profession rests and aims to correct a limited understanding of the concept of property value by explaining the intrinsic linkages between economic, environmental, social and cultural measures and components of property value, and thus paving the way towards a more holistic approach to property value. The scope goes beyond the mere financial aspect of value that is usually found in books on property economics and valuation and bridges a gap between more holistic approaches to value that can be found in the history of economic value thought and contemporary valuation theory and practice.
